“Career Readiness and Green Ties” by John

Well the Career Readiness Program has come to an end. Of the 11 students we started with eight have completed the program. Of those eight students two are going to college, two are about to finish their G.E.D’s, two have been placed into jobs and four have received offers. Additionally, from the contract SEEED received from the city of Knoxville the students have been hard at work canvassing neighborhoods and educating communities about weatherization. Thus, they have educated over 1,000 people on how to save money and energy on their utility bill, completed 300 weatherization surveys, and held weatherization workshops for over 90 residents. So, Check out some photos of our Career Readiness students hard at work.

Lastly, we are celebrating all the hard work and commitment our students have put in through The Green Tie Event. This is your chance to meet some of these inspiring young people as well as learn more about SEEED and what we do in the community. The Green Tie Event will include live entertainment, delicious food, and great people. Trust me you will love this event. So, if you’re interested you can buy tickets at seeedgreentie.eventbrite.com , or just show up April 28th from 6-830pm at the Square Room. I have attached a flier for you to use as a reference. I hope to see you there!
